Album finished!

After many many hot weeks in and out of my bedroom studio, i'm pleased to announce my debut album, 'Atrophy' is finished! I only have a little more mastering to do tomorrow and I'd expect it will be out late tomorrow/early sunday. As stated in the 'About Me' section, 'Atrophy' is a concept album in which each song is from a different person's perspective - and the role they play in the 'Atrophy' of the human race (apart from 'Parisian Stars' - which was written for my girlfriend, but it plays a part in the united sense of the start of the album). It's not a depressing/emo album, but rather a common person's interpretation of the hope that still remains for us.

The album deliberately explores a large variety of genres and textures. Some is fast and upbeat, some is slow and mellow. There are instrumental tracks on the album - because I believe instrumental tracks are vitally important in concept albums as it draws the listener away from the usual dictated narrating they are used to with lyrics - and into unknown territory, where the story is formed in their own minds, with the base of the music.

The music was written over a period of several months to follow the story that I had written. I have thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and I'm looking foreward to sharing it with whoever wishes to hear it. You may mock me and laugh, or you may actually enjoy it. The bottom line is, listening to the album from start to finish is an experience. Maybe not an overly positive one (depending on your musical tastes - I have tried to cater for everyone!) If you enjoy the experience, then the way I work is that I accept donations via paypal. I don't ever expect to make money off of 'In Sequence', and I do wholeheartedly believe that music should be free, however the option is always there.

So thanks for visiting my page. I hope you enjoy the album (regardless of how primitive it is) and that you may gain something from it. If not, then it's still a freebie, right?

Thanks a million,
Alex Mascart
